Should we build new nuclear in the UK?

Today the green party was the second party to say that new nuclear is not an answer to the generation of low carbon electricity. The Libdems have similar  views. But can this be right?  Cabn renewables and CCS on convential power plants plus energy efficiency really be the answer?

And here is the LibDems have said the following

More nuclear power will soak up subsidy, centralise energy production and hinder development of Britain’s vast renewable resources. Nuclear has a dirty legacy and increases global security risks.
