Sustainable building

Recently we have been adding new ebooks to OneToRemember.co.uk on the them of sustainable buildings. This is a popular subject where the home meets climate change. Below I have listed some of the ebooks that we currently stock.

So here is the first ebook - How to build a green home. This book was written and published by AguaLuna and has 29 pages describing how to build a green home for $10,000.

It details several building methods including:

EARTH BAG - utilizing normal dirt filled in sand bags and stacked upon each other
with rows of barbed wire locking each together. Sandbags cost pennies per bag
in bulk so it appears to be a cheap building method.

ADOBE homes - which can be made from blocks or coated onto existing structure using
a mesh screen stapled to interior or exterior walls. Build blocks by first fabricating
a form, pour adobe mix (sand, hay, clay, paint, water) and let harden under the
sun.

UNDERGROUND homes which can be visually and thermally rewarding, naturally
cooling/heating by up to 30 degrees from outside ambient temps.

COB which is similar to adobe & is made from clay, sand & hay. Homes can be made
from blocks or coated on using mesh screen. Plus - STRAW BALE,

RAMMED EARTH, STRAW BALE. etc. This ebook is a good introduction to what can be built - it’s difficult to not want to start building…

The second ebook is just what you are looking for if you want to build an environmentally friendly house, garage or barn from natural materials, this is the e-book for you. Explore the pros and cons of building with straw, logs, cordwood, earth and local lumber. Learn how to manage local building codes and inspections. And find out how you can design any home to take advantage solar heat and natural cooling.

Like the first, the authors describe various building methods from homes made from STRAW BALES to LOG cabins. With 67 pages of detailed information and some great pictures of finished homes this ebook represents great value for money.

The last ebook in this blog post is from the UK rather from the USA as with the first two ebooks. Simple changes to your home can save you energy and money. Thinking of a major extension to your home, or a new build? You need this ebook! Save money - save energy - improve the quality of your house, your garden and your life! It’s simple if you know how. Get the latest advice, facts and great photos from this new 400 page Green Home & Building Ebook. Many wide-ranging sections and 105 chapters! This ebook is guaranteed to reduce your carbon footprint. Do you want to know more about green homes, gardens, building techniques, solar and wind energy, water saving, recycling, and read discussion articles on all the big topics?

So three great ebooks focused on sustianable building. But that’s not all. We also have some great free ebooks on sustainable building that are worth taking a look at just click on the icon below for a full lits inlcuding new and used books.
